beach bums

we went to the beach several weeks ago with my side of the family. it was a great week and we loved almost every second! beware...i dont think i have ever posted this many pictures, so feel free to stop looking whenever you get bored!

sweet daddy and taylor time playing in the ocean.

Callie smiling while she was playing games with uncle brad and aunt jessi

me and my sweet baby!

Taylor getting so brave! Last year she would not let her toes touch the ocean, but this year she would walk right in and get shoulder deep in it all by herself!

Can you tell she was having the time of her life?? she was happy every second she was on the beach and would have stayed out 12 hours a day!

sweet blair...she was perfect all week long! my girls were slightly obsessed with her and she (and her parents) didnt seem to mind too much!

family picture!

I love this one of Callie!

my baby girl...i am kind of liking that she still has very little hair. i think it makes her look like a baby a little longer. i am not ready for her to get so big!

sweet family...brad, jessi and blair

photo sessions with the cousins! David's mom was so sweet to monogram "cousins" on their shirts so they would look extra cute with their new (and only) cousin! Taylor was so proud to be able to hold blair all by herself, and she actually did a pretty good job!

mom and dad with their girls!

I love this one of the girls...very rarely to i get 2 smiles at the same time. It was pretty funny wearing "cousins" on their shirts when they were without blair. i photoshopped the "cousins" out of it for this one!

taylor started school a couple of weeks ago and she thnks school is the greatest thing ever invented. i keep telling her i missed her while she was gone and she always replies, "mommy, I forgot to miss you!" here are some pictures from the first day...

This was actually on Sneak a Peak day. This is her teacher Miss Stephanie...taytay loves her!

Callie not wanting to be left out of the pictures.

She looks so grown up!

Dancing about going to school....

This is taylor on her first day last year...it makes me so sad to see how much she has grown up!

Chattanooga

Several weeks ago, David and I took Taylor down to Chattanooga for a little getaway. We had wanted to take her there for a while, but Callie is not exactly "traveler friendly." We left on Saturday and spent the day there, spent the night, and came back Sunday evening. We went to the aquarium and discovery kids center. she loved every second, but i think her favorite part is that they were having a Curious George exibit at the discovery center. george is her favorite show!

David and Taylor in she shark cage!

maybe she has a future in this medical field seeing how well this patient is being cared for!

Taytay and her george

Taytay and hunley

ice cream after dinner!

I was not prepared for her to jump in the water, i just thought she was going to splash around!
David had to sprint back to the car and get a change of clothes before the movie started.

In the movie...taylor did not like the movie at all because she was sure the fish were going to come out of the screen and get her. she spent her time in the movie with her hand reaching out to stop the fish from getting her.

one tired little girl at the end of this 2 day adventure!

Callie turns 1!!

what a celebration!! Callie turned 1 last week and we celebrated it big time! I am mostly extatic and only a little sad that my baby has made it through her first year. It has been such a hard year with her and all of her health issues, but she has been the sweetest baby taking it all in stride. She is one tough cookie, that is something i know for sure. I am so proud to be Callie's momma! here are some pictures...

Birthday morning playing with her new water table.

Callie's first cupcake! We went to the park for dinner and to play on her birthday. She had a great time eating it here, but didn't like it at the party!

This is the birthday hat the girls wear on their special day...it was breakfast time and i could not get her to put it back on the rest of the day. She is attempting to get it off while i was taking this...

After dinner, we played and they had so much fun!

"mom, quit taking pictures!!"

Birthday party day! She kept the tutu on for so much longer than i thought, it was so cute!

Family shot!

kiddos at the water table...

Lovin' on callie!

Taylor about to start some fun...

Cupcake eating...sort of. mostly it was just touching the icing and then quitting.

After everyone was finished watching her, she decided to try it out.

Firsts

These girls have done several firsts these past few months...

Callie had her first ride in the Jeep this weekend. This makes me very nervous, but you can tell from davids face, this makes him very excited. the rule i have is they have to be sitting sitting forward in the carseat before they have their first ride. callie has just reached that milestone, and david did not waste any time getting her in there with him. i know it is a terrible picture, but you can see the fun david is having!

These next ones are Taylor's first gymmastics year. she just finished last week and she has loved every second of it! she met so many new friends and was so brave trying new things. it really did teach her some great balance and coordination. she is sad it is done for the summer, but i am sure she will be doing it again before too long!
stretching...

walking backwards on the balance beam...

and on the bars...

Callie had her first cookie a couple of weeks ago and i was such a proud momma! she has so many food allergies that anything new is a big deal, and this was so much fun! i had a lot of shopping to do in Publix and needed something to get me through. She loved it!!!

After the cookie face. she kept signing "more" for the rest of the grocery trip.

both the girls with their cookies...what a great day!

Taylor had her first month of swim lessons in May. You can see the hesitancy in this picture, but she got better every week and i am so proud of her for her improvements! i am thinking we will not be actually swimming for a long while, but i am happy with these small steps!

Oh, what a sad day this was. I took this picture on Taylor's last day of her first year of Preschool. These are her sweet teachers, Miss Ashley and Miss Michele. She loved both of them so much and still says daily that she misses them. they were so wonderful for her!
