Miss Callie Clark

Ok, so i wanted to try to blog about sweet callie and brag about all her new skills. she has had a tough go at things over the past few months, but she is pushing through it and not letting it slow her down. She has started crawling everywhere and loves standing up. that is her favorite trick that she does, well, most of the day that she is awake. she will crawl over to and object so she can stand up with it and then lets go totally and plays or claps. it is so funny to watch this little thing standing on her own for extended amounts of time. the one problem that is coming from this is multiple bruises and cuts from her new explorations! she has a new cut or bruise most every day. she is feeling better from all of her belly and eating issues, and we are very thankful for that. she can't tolerate any foods still except the prescription formula and sweet potatoes, but we are trying to work on that. sometimes i sit down with her and eat a sweet potato while she is having hers, just so i feel like we are sharing a meal together. maybe one day i will get to share a cinnamon roll with her...thats what i want! she has been a trooper through all of her issues, and i am so proud of her making all these strides. way to go callie, we love you! here are a couple of pictures of her outside enjoying this great weather...this was her first time exploring in the grass.

I know, it's been forever...

my blogging has taken a turn for the worse, so I am trying to catch up for the past several months in one short post. Callie is 6 months old and is becoming quite the personality these days. she is the most smiling kid i have ever seen. well, smiling at people like daddy, mommy, and taylor! Taylor is gearing up for the Christmas season and asks every day if it is Christmas day.  Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks/months.

Pictures with Santa...this is the first year we even tried. Last year, Taylor would cry if she got closer than about 50 feet. big improvements!

Daddy and Taylor putting the angel on the top of the tree. Taylor helped with all of the decorations this year. Notice the tree...it is the biggest and most beautiful we have ever had!

I took some pictures of the girls when we were at my grandmothers' house over the thanksgiving weekend. I love this magnolia tree because I used to play in it all the time as a child.

Beach 2008

We made it through our first family vacation with 2 kids. We went to Destin for a week with my parents and brother and sister in law. We had a great time, buy Taylor had the time of her life. Never before (and maybe never again) has she gotten so much undivided attention by anyone she wanted at any point in the day. She was in pure heaven! Aunt Jessi became her buddy and she was by Jessi's side as long as she was awake. Callie was not a fan of the beach, but she sure did like getting held all day every day. Thanks for a great week guys, we had so much fun!

Some pictures of the week are at the link below (we will see if that works).

Cupcake day

Taylor is always up for a good sugary snack, so when I suggested cupcakes, she thought that was a good idea. There is a new cupcake store in downtown Franklin, so we checked it out. The cupcakes were beautiful...and didn't taste bad either!

Another thing we have been doing around here...trying not to nap. Taylor figured out after the first week of preschool that not everyone what sleeping, so she decided she doesn't need to either. She may not think it is necessary, but it really is peace is going to stay in our house. She is soooo exhausted by the end of the day that she is terrible!!! This was the morning after preschool when she fell asleep on the couch in her ballerina costume.

And speaking of sleeping....Callie is finally getting there! We did sleep training the past couple of weeks and she now knows how to go to sleep in her bed by herself which is a major feat around here! Now, if she would just not cry out for the passie 100 times a night.

Callie's 3 Month Pictures

We just got Callie's 3 month pictures back for her panel and I thought I would share a couple! She was so sleepy by the time they started, but she put on her smile for them anyway!

Schoolgirl

Taylor started her first week of preschool this past week. She was so excited to start school, she asked every day for about a month. When Tuesday came, she was not disappointed. Her teachers sent a note home that day saying she loved every minute of it. Apparently she missed me terribly!

No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!

Well, Taylor finally got it. She got her first black eye. She was jumping on my bed (with my supervision) which she loves to do. She went to divebomb my pillow and met the headboard instead. Needless to say, there were a few tears shed! However, once she got over the initial shock, she really was okay with it and did not complain about it hurting. We are now almost 3 weeks out from it and there is still a little bruise under her eye. Here are the first few days...

Day 3

After the black eye incident, David thought football was the next step in her career. This is her football pose.

And I thought cooking was a better activity for mommy and taylor to do together. We have flour on our noses, which we always have to do when baking.
